If Your Clothing Could Speak…

If your clothing could talk, what would it say? Would it speak a different language than you? Would it talk about its beginnings in a cotton field, stripped from the earth? Would it speak of the brutality it saw while being made? Would it remember the hands that were tired, shaking, and whipped into submission in order to create its perfect seams? Would it recall the chemicals it was forced to ingest in order to achieve the desired color? Or would it speak of the beauty it created? Would it share a story of fair wages, clean working conditions, and upward mobility? Think of your clothing as more than something that you wrap around your body. Think of your clothing as a statement. Do you believe in empathy or exploitation? Do you believe in confidence and courage or regret and shame?Β Join A.
